When was the last time I had an original thought? Where does the time go? What was the last book I read? How is your life improved by watching TV or listening to the news? Could I live without TV or newspapers? Radical thought! Well, about 10 or so years ago I did just that, killed the TV. At first I thought I would miss the 2 programs I thought I enjoyed and could not miss. Guess what I discovered, after the first few days I never thought about them plus.....I found hours and hours of free time to do with as I please, whoopee! Like read, garden, go to museums, be with family/friends. AND I slept so much better without the mayhem in my mind from the 11pm news. Sometimes people ask: what if there is an emergency and you need to know? Well, I guess someone will tell me :) Last year I even gave up the paper, another radical step, I know. I figured if my mind was going to be programmed, I was going to do it, not someone else. What I encountered is a centered, calmer life to live. Try turning off the TV for an hour, a day, a week, a month as an experiment. I challenge you. If you truly miss TV what is it you miss? Just remember there is an off button:) I never used it as "back ground noise" as you still hear it and many of the messages are subliminal. And I never slept to it as your brain is most open to suggestion during sleep. Have fun with this one and don't be afraid to be different. When you miss it you could tap for: "Even though I think I really like TV, I'm open to the possibility of doing without it for a time. If I choose I can go back to watching. This is just an experiment. I am in control."
